Key differences

InVideo AI lists a free tier and Pictory does not.

InVideo AI has the lower starting price ($10/mo against $25/mo for Pictory). The cheapest plan rarely has the same limits or features, so compare plans before choosing on price.

Both are in our Video & Motion category.

About each tool

InVideo AI

Prompt-based AI video tool that generates images, video, voice and music, with a timeline editor. Credit-metered, priced per seat: Starter is $10 a month billed annually ($20 monthly).

Who it is for

Individuals and teams who want to produce video from text prompts and then edit it on a timeline. Paid plans add seats for small and mid-sized teams, up to 5, 10 or 20 depending on the tier.

Strengths

  • invideo's help center says manual timeline editing, exporting and downloading use no credits
  • Monthly or annual billing is available, and annual billing is listed at 50% off the monthly price
  • Its Terms say invideo will not use your user data to train or fine-tune its AI models
  • The Terms grant you a license to commercialize the outputs you generate, and exported outputs stay usable after cancellation

Limitations

  • Free plan credits are limited and reset weekly on Monday at 00:00 UTC. The help article gives no credit amount
  • Free plan downloads include a watermark, which any paid plan removes
  • Unused plan credits do not roll over, and invideo says credit costs can change without notice
  • Credit cost depends on model, resolution, duration and features, and video models are priced per second, so output per plan varies
  • Pricing is per seat. Starter is capped at 5 seats with no guest seats, and premium stock footage is capped per plan (100 on Starter, 200 on Plus, 500 on Max)
  • Fees are non-refundable, except a refund may be requested within 7 days of purchase or renewal if no credits or premium features were used

Pictory

Turns scripts, articles, URLs and recordings into captioned videos with AI voiceover and stock media. 14-day trial; Starter is $25 a month billed annually ($29 monthly).

Who it is for

Pictory's pricing page offers single-user plans (Starter, Professional), a Team plan for 3 or more users and custom Enterprise pricing for 10 or more users. It suits people who want to produce videos from text or recordings by editing a transcript instead of a timeline.

Strengths

  • Pictory lists input from scripts, articles, one-sentence ideas, URLs, PDF, Doc and PPT files, audio, images and clips, and screen or camera recordings.
  • The text-to-video page lists 18M+ stock clips and images (including Getty Images), 170+ AI voices in 29+ languages with voice cloning, and automatic time-synced captions styled to your brand kit.
  • Exports are listed in 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 as MP4; the pricing page lists 1080p export on paid plans and 720p on the trial.
  • The pricing page lists maximum created video length of 30 minutes on all paid plans and recorded-video editing up to 60 minutes (Starter) or 180 minutes (Professional, Team).
  • The terms say Pictory does not claim ownership of Customer Content and will not use Customer Content to train machine learning models unless expressly agreed in writing.
  • The pricing page says annual plans include the full yearly video-minute allocation upfront, and Team minutes are shared across users.

Limitations

  • Video minutes reset each month on monthly plans and unused monthly minutes do not roll over, per the pricing page.
  • AI features draw on separate AI credits: the avatar page says a ready-made avatar uses 15 credits per 30 seconds of video, so the 100 monthly Starter credits go quickly.
  • Custom avatars and voice cloning are listed from Professional up (2 each on Professional, 2 per user on Team); the avatar page says custom avatars are for Pro, Teams and Enterprise.
  • Premium ElevenLabs voice minutes are capped per plan (60 a month on Starter, 120 on Professional, 240 on Team, per the pricing cards).
  • The pricing page disagrees with itself: Starter AI credits are 100 on the cards and one table but 200 in another; Professional premium music is 10,000 tracks in one table and 15,000 in another; Team voice minutes are 240 on the cards but up to 420 in a second table.
  • The pricing page says Pictory does not offer refunds on paid subscriptions, and its FAQ says projects are permanently deleted on cancellation, so download them first. The terms say fees are non-refundable and cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period.
