Meshy vs Tripo3D
Meshy and Tripo3D side by side: what each one is, what it costs to start, and whether you can try it free. Everything below comes from the vendors' own sites and other public sources, not from hands-on testing.
Neither tool is ranked above the other here. These are research-based profiles, not hands-on tests. Starting price is the lowest listed paid plan per month (annual-billing equivalent where the vendor lists one), as shown on the vendor's own site when we last checked. Prices change, so confirm on the vendor's site.

About each tool
M

Meshy
Generates 3D models from text or images, with texturing, rigging and animation. Free plan with 100 credits a month; Pro is $20 a month.
Who it is for
The vendor lists plans for individual creators, high-volume creators, studios and teams, and large organisations. It offers plugins and bridges for Blender, Unity, Unreal, Godot, Maya, 3ds Max and Roblox.
Strengths
- A free plan with 100 credits a month and no card needed
- Exports GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL, USDZ and 3MF according to the export guide; the pricing page also lists .blend
- Pro and above include API access, plugins and the DCC bridge for Blender, Unity, Unreal, Godot, Maya, 3ds Max and Roblox
- Paid plans produce private assets that the customer owns
- Failed generations are not charged, and cancelled tasks are refunded in credits
Limitations
- Free has 100 credits a month, 1 concurrent task, low queue priority and no free retries
- Free outputs are licensed CC BY 4.0, so commercial use needs attribution
- Multi-view Image to 3D, Text to Image, Remesh, AI texture editing and API access are listed as Pro and above
- Pricing is credit based. Monthly credits reset each month, while purchased credits do not expire
- Refunds are generally not offered, with exceptions through support
T

Tripo3D
Credit-based text and image to 3D model generator with rigging and retopology tools and a Free plan; paid plans start at a Reported $20 a month, and sources conflict.
Who it is for
Tripo's feature pages point to game developers, 3D printing users and media or DCC artists who want a starting mesh they can take into Unity, Unreal, Godot, Blender, Maya or similar tools. It also lists a Team tier with a shared workspace and centralized billing; it is a pay-per-credit service, so heavy users should check credit costs first.
Strengths
- Tripo lists input as a single photo, sketch or concept art, or up to 4 reference views (front, left, right, back), in JPG, PNG or WEBP.
- Tripo lists triangle meshes of 500 to 50,000 polygons, quad meshes of 500 to 25,000, and a High Detail Model up to 2 million polygons, with PBR textures and texture upscaling to 4K or 8K.
- Tripo lists auto-rigging for humanoids and animals, preset or text-to-motion animation, segmentation at three precision levels, and Smart Mesh and Quad Remesher retopology.
- Tripo names game engines (Unity, Unreal, Godot, Cocos, Roblox), DCC tools (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush) and Bambu Lab for 3D printing as compatible targets.
- Tripo's plan guide lists monthly credits of 200 (Free), 3,000 (Professional), 25,000 (Max) and 90,000 (Team), with unlimited downloads on paid tiers.
- Tripo's Terms say paid users' inputs and outputs are not used to train, validate, test or improve AI technology, and either party can cancel so renewal stops at the end of the current period.
Limitations
- Free plan: 200 credits a month, 1 day of edit history, 10 stored models and 15 downloads a month on Tripo's plan guide; Tripo's earlier credits guide said 300 credits, and a third-party tracker also lists 300. Confirm on the live pricing page.
- Free-plan models are public under CC BY 4.0, so Tripo must be credited. Tripo's Terms say Tripo retains rights to Free users' inputs and outputs and contain no training restriction for Free users, while private models and the no-attribution commercial license are listed for paid tiers.
- Tripo's own pages disagree on the Pro price: a Tripo blog lists $13.93 a month, an earlier read of Tripo's guides listed $11.94 a month billed annually, and third-party trackers dated Oct 2026 list $20 a month. Pro and Max are reported to cost the same billed monthly or annually.
- Per Tripo's Terms, fees are non-refundable except where the Agreement says otherwise, subscriptions auto-renew at the then-current fee, and the Terms bar using outputs to build competing models or services. Extra credits cost $0.01 each, and the API is billed per credit.
- Team pricing is unclear: trackers report $55 per seat a month billed annually and $110 per seat billed monthly, with one tracker noting an ambiguous August 2026 change to $330 a month (the 3-seat figure).
