TestFit vs Hypar
TestFit and Hypar side by side: what each one is, what it costs to start, and whether you can try it free. Everything below comes from the vendors' own sites and other public sources, not from hands-on testing.
Neither tool is ranked above the other here. These are research-based profiles, not hands-on tests. Starting price is the lowest listed paid plan per month (annual-billing equivalent where the vendor lists one), as shown on the vendor's own site when we last checked. Prices change, so confirm on the vendor's site.

Key differences
Hypar lists a free tier and TestFit does not.

Both are in our Architecture category.
About each tool
T

TestFit
Site feasibility software for parking, massing and unit yield. Parking Solver is $195 a month billed monthly; Site Solver starts at $15,000 a year.
Who it is for
The vendor's site names developers, architects, contractors, civil engineers, planners and brokers as users. Its pricing page positions Parking Solver for parking studies and quick feasibility, Site Solver for automated feasibility and deal evaluation, and Site Solver Portfolio for portfolio-scale evaluation.
Strengths
- TestFit lists unlimited users on Parking Solver, which includes parking automation, 2D and 3D massing, custom stalls and drive aisles and a Yield Estimator.
- The pricing FAQ says Revit and SketchUp integration is supported in all plans, and the Site Solver page lists a direct Revit add-in.
- The Site Solver page lists site selection by parcel data, APN or metes and bounds, exclusion zones for flood zones and wetlands via ESRI integration, SSURGO soil data, zoning profiles (FAR, units per acre, parking ratio) and cut-and-fill estimates.
- The Site Solver page lists a deal database for land, hard and soft costs and revenue, with design options sortable by metrics such as FAR, parking ratio and yield on cost.
- The Site Solver page lists exports to .dxf, .skp, .glTF, .csv and .pdf, and typologies including multi-family, single-family, industrial, data center, retail, hotel and parking.
Limitations
- Self-service checkout purchases are one calendar month, renew automatically unless non-renewal notice is given at least two business days before expiry, and the refund policy says 'All sales are final' with no refunds or prorations. Terms of Service section 7.3 also says fees are non-refundable unless stated otherwise.
- On Parking Solver, Site Intelligence (+$150 a month), Pro Forma (+$170 a month) and MCP Connection (+$100 a month) are paid add-ons. Vendor pages disagree on Site Solver pricing: the pricing page lists $15,000 a year, while the Site Solver page text lists $195 a month or $15,000 a year.
- The Terms of Service limit use to the customer's internal use, bar competitive analysis and reselling, and require the customer to grant TestFit broad rights in Customer Data while the customer remains its owner. The terms and the privacy policy (updated April 3, 2025) do not mention AI model training; the policy says data may be used to create de-identified or aggregated information and to improve products.
H

Hypar
Browser-based space-planning software with a Revit add-in. Reported: free for non-professional use; Professional $1,000 per user billed annually (about $83 a month).
Strengths
- A 2024 AEC Magazine article says Hypar 2.0 (released September 2024) has a bubble mode for sketching spaces as diagrams and a first AI-based layout suggestion feature.
- A hands-on review on BIMpure says programs can be imported from Excel or CSV with column mapping, and DXF files or images can be used as underlays.
- The same review lists export of 2D or 3D views as PNG and of PDFs with a custom title block and logo.
- The same review says the Revit add-in has two functions, Load Project and Send Selection to Hypar, and that the core Elements libraries are open source on GitHub.
- Reported: ArchPulse says all plans include bubble-mode planning, Excel/CSV program import, AI furniture layout suggestions and reusable room types.
Limitations
- Reported: Professional is priced per user, so cost rises with each seat. Studio is volume-priced for 20+ seats with no published figure.
- Pricing sources disagree: ArchPulse lists Professional at $100 a month or $1,000 a year per user, while BIMTools Hub lists $25 a month or $250 a year for an individual plan. No data, privacy or training terms were read.
