What is Coursera for Business?
Coursera for Business is Coursera's workforce learning offering: a catalog of courses, Professional Certificates, hands-on labs and short videos that companies license for employees, with learning paths, reports and AI-assisted guidance. It runs on the Coursera web platform and mobile apps, with a Team plan for up to 499 users and an Enterprise plan for 500 or more.
Who it's for
The vendor aims Team at businesses training groups of up to 499 people and Enterprise at larger organizations that need Skill Tracks, SSO, APIs and a customer success manager. It also sells to government teams and offers a nonprofit discount; Coursera Plus is a separate individual subscription.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Coursera's Teams page lists over 12,000 courses, 140+ certificates, 1,500+ hands-on labs and 200,000+ short clips, with partners such as Google, IBM, Stanford Online and the University of Michigan. The compare page gives different catalog counts.
- The compare page lists AI-powered learning guidance grounded in Coursera expert content, an AI-powered Course Builder, and GenAI Playgrounds in Guided Projects; Enterprise adds AI-assisted custom course building.
- Team lists dashboards and reports, custom learning paths with badging, AI-proctored exams with a lockdown browser, mobile apps and a company-branded homepage.
- Enterprise lists Skill Tracks (IT, Software and Product, Data, GenAI) with outcome reporting, SSO, APIs, and native LTI for Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle and D2L; the FAQ says Coursera integrates with 30+ LMS/LXP systems.
- Coursera's security page says its program is SOC 2 Type 2 attested and that its policies are based on ISO/IEC 27001, with the certificate listed in the auditor's directory.
- Certified nonprofits can get 25% off Teams licenses bought through the website, and Team purchases carry a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Limitations
- The Team price on the compare page showed 'Loading...' when read, so the figure comes from a Coursera landing page (discover.coursera.org); Enterprise pricing is not published.
- Team is sold per license per year and has a seat range of 2 to 499 on the configurator, while other sections say 5 to 499; volume discounts start at 25 licenses and the page gives conflicting maximums (5% and up to 27%).
- Skill Tracks, SSO, APIs, LTI integrations and a dedicated customer success manager are not in Team. The FAQ says SSO, API and LTI carry an extra fee on Enterprise, and AI/LLM integrations (Microsoft, OpenAI, Enterprise MCP Server) are marked not included in Enterprise.
- Coursera's own pages disagree on catalog size (9,200+, 10,600+, 12,000+ and 12,500+ courses) and certificate counts (140+, 150+, 165+).
- The pages read do not say whether learner or customer content is used to train AI models; the security page makes no statement on it and does not mention GDPR. The 14-day guarantee is listed only for Team and earned certificates are revoked on refund.
Plans and pricing
- Team: $399 per license a year billed annually, or $438.90 per license a year billed quarterly. 2 to 499 users, full catalog, reports, learning paths, AI guidance and Course Builder; no SSO, APIs or Skill Tracks; 14-day money-back guarantee.
- Enterprise: Contact sales. 500+ users; adds Skill Tracks, outcome reporting, SSO, APIs, LTI and a customer success manager (subject to contract size); price tailored.
The $399 and $438.90 figures were read from Coursera's Teams pricing page at discover.coursera.org because the official compare-plans page showed 'Loading...' for price; it says billing is per user per year. That page also mentions 'annual or monthly billing' in a later step, so confirm on the live pricing page. Currency is USD; Enterprise has no public price.
