What is Grantable?
Grantable is a web-based AI workspace for finding funders, turning RFPs into requirement checklists, drafting grant proposals, and tracking deadlines and reports. The vendor describes it as an "AI grants department" with prospecting, writing, and management functions.
Who it's for
The vendor aims it at small nonprofits without dedicated grant staff, and also lists pages for grant writers, teams, agencies, businesses, government, and academic institutions. Its business pages target small businesses and startups seeking non-dilutive funding such as SBIR/STTR programs.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Grantable says funder research for nonprofits uses public IRS 990 data to show a funder's giving history and fit, and lists a free 990-PF lookup and a nonprofit eligibility check.
- The vendor says RFPs are converted into requirement checklists covering sections, word limits, attachments, and deadlines, and drafting works section by section from an organization profile and uploaded past proposals.
- Grantable lists a workspace Library for documents such as past proposals and annual reports, per-application autosave with version history, inline comments, and export of finished proposals as DOCX or PDF.
- The pipeline has list, kanban, and calendar views with deadline reminders 7, 3, and 1 days out, plus post-award report due dates (business page).
- The pricing page says there are no per-seat or per-user fees on any plan and that every plan includes the same features, differing only in capacity.
- The business page lists a sync with Grants.gov, including SBIR/STTR solicitations, and team roles of admin, editor, commenter, and viewer.
Limitations
- The Free plan is capped at 5 chat messages per day and file imports up to 10 MB, and the vendor says scheduled tasks are Pro only.
- Capacity is shown only as multiples of the Free plan (20x for Starter, 60x for Pro); the pricing page does not give credit amounts or exact limits behind those multiples.
- The pricing page has a monthly/annual toggle saying annual saves 17%, but it shows no annual prices, so the annual cost could not be confirmed. The Agency Hub add-on is $300 a month, and SSO/SAML, custom data retention, and API access are sold through sales with no published price.
- The pricing page lists no nonprofit discount, and the nonprofit page mentions none either. The pricing FAQ lists questions on cancellation and the free tier, but the answers could not be read, and the privacy policy does not mention refunds.
- The vendor's pages differ on SOC 2: the grant-writing page references an independent SOC 2 audit, while the Trust page says the last Type II examination covered April 9 to July 9, 2025 and that Grantable does not claim an active certification now.
- The privacy policy does not address how donor or constituent records are handled if uploaded, and says AI requests may include relevant portions of your documents. It says user content is typically retained for one year after account closure unless you request earlier deletion.
