What is Numeric?
Numeric is a web-based finance platform for accounting teams that covers month-end close management, account reconciliation, flux analysis, cash matching, billing and revenue, and, since late September 2026, a Financial Data Platform it positions as an ERP replacement. It connects to ERPs and bank feeds, includes AI agents and an MCP connection for outside AI tools, and runs in the browser with Slack notifications.
Who it's for
Numeric's pages target accounting teams at high-growth public and private companies, with a Controller at a growing tech company running the close across NetSuite, spreadsheets and Slack described as the typical buyer. Its own comparison article says it is not a native fit for teams on SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Numeric's pricing page lists four options that can be combined (except ERP Replacement, which includes the full suite): ERP Replacement, Close Management & Analytics, Cash Management, and Billing & Revenue.
- The Close Management page lists checklists and templates, tagging by department, entity or control for multi-entity and SOX work, saved views, and read-only auditor access with a timestamped audit trail.
- Numeric's comparison article says it syncs NetSuite at the transaction-line level and pulls trial-balance data from Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Xero and Workday; its pricing page names NetSuite, QBO, Xero and Sage Intacct as supported when you already have an ERP.
- The pricing page says automated cash matching can cover up to 95% of bank transactions, with live bank feeds, journal entry automation and AI parsing of bank statements (the comparison article says 90%+ of bank reconciliations).
- The AI page lists an agent command center, flux analysis, App Studio for describing and generating apps against live financial data, and rule drafting for cash matching and revenue recognition; it says models never compute a number or draft a journal entry.
- The AI page says a Numeric MCP lets an outside LLM access financial data whether the team closes in Numeric or uses it as its ERP; the comparison article names Claude and ChatGPT as examples.
Limitations
- The official pricing page lists no prices, trial or usage limits; every option points to a demo request, and its FAQ says pricing depends on factors such as transaction volume and number of seats.
- The vendor's pages disagree on pricing: the pricing page shows four custom-quote options, while Numeric's own comparison article lists Essentials at $30 per user a month plus custom Growth and Enterprise tiers, and a 2023 announcement described Numeric Essentials as free. Treat the $30 figure (Reported) as unconfirmed.
- The pricing page does not say whether onboarding and data migration fees are included; it says they are scoped upfront and aligned during evaluation. A third-party site (Reported) says implementation, integrations and support are extra.
- Numeric's comparison article says it has narrower native ERP coverage than enterprise tools and no native SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics support; transaction-level sync is listed for NetSuite only.
- The pages read did not state security certifications such as SOC 2, SSO or SAML, and did not say whether customer content is used to train AI models. The privacy policy covers the marketing website only; confirm contract and data terms with Numeric's sales team.
