What is Sana?

Sana is now part of Workday and sells two products on sanalabs.com: Sana Learn, a web-based learning platform combining LMS, LXP, authoring and virtual classroom with AI course creation and an AI tutor, and Sana, an enterprise AI platform for building agents grounded in company knowledge. Both are sold through sales (an intro call) for companies, not as self-serve apps.

Who it's for

Sana Learn is aimed at L&D teams, course creators and admins, with sales enablement, compliance training, onboarding, external training and leadership development listed as use cases. Sana's site says Workday is not required to buy Sana Learn, and Workday customers get separate offerings (Workday Learning, powered by Sana, and Sana from Workday).

Pros & cons

Strengths

  • Sana says Sana Learn turns source material such as PDFs, documents and SCORM files into interactive courses, and offers an AI tutor that answers questions in natural language and cites sources.
  • Sana lists Sana Learn pricing as per user per month with implementation, configuration, integrations and content migration by a deployment team at no added cost, and says no capabilities are locked behind add-ons.
  • Sana lists SSO, custom branding and white-labeling, multilingual support, analytics, automated learning management and 24/7/365 support in Sana Learn.
  • Sana's agent platform page says it connects to over 100 apps, including Google Drive, Teams, Slack, Salesforce, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Jira and Workday, and its Enterprise tier includes an MCP client.
  • Sana lists ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR compliance, SAML SSO, SCIM, audit logging and regional deployments, and points to trust.sanalabs.com for details.
  • Sana says Sana Learn continues as an independent product and can be bought and run without being a Workday customer.

Limitations

  • Sana Learn shows no dollar amounts: pricing is per user per month, varies by volume, and the page says plans start at 300 users, though its seat selector also offers 'Below 300'; the quote comes from booking an intro call.
  • Sana's agent platform no longer has a public self-serve plan: its pricing page lists only an Enterprise plan with custom pricing. A third-party tracker (usagepricing.com, Reported) says the Free (up to 5 members, 10 meetings a month) and Team ($30 per user a month, up to 50 members) tiers were removed around October 2026, but a Sana support article dated December 11, 2025 still describes them, so confirm with Sana.
  • Workday's March 17, 2026 press release says Sana from Workday is sold as part of Workday through Flex Credits and that Sana Enterprise needs Workday HCM or Financial Management or Flex Credits, while sanalabs.com presents Sana and Sana Learn as standalone; check which route applies to you.
  • Sana's pages read do not say whether customer content or learner data is used to train AI models, and the Sana Learn pages do not name the AI model providers; they point to the trust center.
  • Sana's pages disagree on SOC 2: the Sana Learn feature list says Type 2, while its pricing FAQ mentions both Type I and Type II.

Plans and pricing

  • Sana Learn: Contact sales (per user per month). LMS, LXP, authoring, virtual classroom, AI authoring and AI tutor; plans start at 300 users; volume-based; implementation and content migration included; no free trial listed.
  • Sana Enterprise (agent platform): Custom. Only plan on the pricing page: unlimited members and documents per integration, SSO/SCIM, enterprise DPA, extended range of LLMs, analytics dashboard, SLA, MCP client; booked through an intro call.
  • Sana from Workday: Via Workday. Workday's release says it is sold as part of Workday with Flex Credits and no separate license; for Workday customers only.

No dollar prices are published on Sana's official pages: Sana Learn shows per-user-per-month pricing only after a quote, and the agent platform shows only Enterprise with custom pricing. The earlier Free and Team tiers appear in a Dec 2025 support article but are reported removed by a third-party tracker (Reported). Confirm on the live pricing page.

Details checked November 2026 against the vendor's own pages. Prices and limits change, so confirm before you buy. Official pricing page ↗
