What is Wiz?
Wiz is a cloud security platform (a CNAPP) that connects to cloud accounts through APIs and maps risks across infrastructure, workloads, identities and data on a Security Graph. Its products are Wiz Cloud, Wiz Code and Wiz Defend, delivered as a web console with an optional runtime sensor, and Wiz is now part of Google Cloud.
Who it's for
Wiz is aimed at security and cloud teams that run workloads on AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, Alibaba Cloud, Kubernetes or private clouds, and at developers who receive findings in code tools. It is sold to organizations through quotes and demos; its pages do not describe a self-serve plan for individuals.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Wiz says Wiz Cloud connects through API integrations with agentless, read-only scanning of workload snapshots, and that most deployments finish in minutes to hours.
- Wiz lists support for AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, Alibaba Cloud, Kubernetes and private clouds, and Google says Wiz products will stay available across AWS, Azure and Oracle Cloud.
- Wiz Code scans infrastructure-as-code, secrets and SBOMs and links cloud risks back to code, with fixes offered in IDEs, pull requests and CI/CD, according to Wiz.
- Wiz Defend adds runtime threat detection and response through a lightweight eBPF-based sensor for Linux containers and VMs, with forensic collection, containment workflows and SIEM/SOAR integration, per Wiz.
- Wiz lists integrations including Jira, ServiceNow, Slack, Teams, Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, PagerDuty, Terraform, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Okta and CyberArk, and says its Integration Network has 300 integrations.
- Wiz says customer data is hosted regionally, with the U.S. as default and options including the EU, UK, Canada, Australia, India, UAE, Japan and Israel.
Limitations
- Pricing is not published: Wiz says it is generally based on cloud workload count plus the features needed, tailored, and available on request. The official pricing page could not be read in this research.
- Wiz was acquired by Google, and Google's announcement of March 11, 2026 says the Wiz brand is retained; it does not describe how the product lines or terms may be integrated over time. Wiz's privacy policy now links to a Google Cloud privacy notice.
- Wiz's FAQ says deployment needs no agents, but also describes an optional sensor and agent-based components for runtime detection and hybrid or on-premises coverage, so full coverage may involve installing software.
- Wiz says its scanning reads and processes data, including sensitive or personal data temporarily during SaaS scanning, without retaining copies; it says it stores metadata and redacted findings only.
- Wiz's AI agents (Red, Blue, Green), Mika and Workflows are described on marketing pages without stated plan, usage limits or per-feature pricing, and those pages make no statement about training on customer data.
Plans and pricing
- Wiz Cloud: Contact sales. Agentless cloud security platform; pricing is not published and is quoted, generally by workload count and features.
- Wiz Code: Contact sales. Code and pipeline scanning module; no public price found.
- Wiz Defend: Contact sales. Runtime detection and response module with optional eBPF sensor; no public price found.
- Free trial / proof of concept: Free, on request. Wiz's FAQ says it offers a free trial and proof-of-concept options in your own environment; terms were not readable. This is a trial, not a free plan.
Read from Wiz's evaluation FAQ, which says pricing is tailored and quoted on request; the official pricing page (titled as a custom-quote page in search) could not be fetched. Tier names above are the product modules Wiz lists, not confirmed price tiers. Confirm on the live pricing page.
