What is Booke AI?

Booke AI sells an "AI Bookkeeper" that works inside QuickBooks Online and Xero, where it categorizes bank feed transactions, matches them to invoices, bills and receipts, requests missing documents and prepares bank reconciliation. It runs on Booke-managed infrastructure: you invite it as a user to selected books, so no separate software install is described.

Who it's for

Booke says it is for small and mid-sized businesses and accounting firms in the US, UK, Canada and Australia that keep their books in QuickBooks Online or Xero. Firms can ask for a multi-client plan with a white-label client experience; Booke does not present it as a new ledger or a replacement for accountants.

Pros & cons

Strengths

  • Booke says it works through your existing bank feed with no new or duplicate bank connection, and that QuickBooks Online or Xero stays the system of record.
  • The Business plan lists daily bank feed categorization, smart document matching, missing document requests, custom thresholds and rules, exception review with an audit trail, OCR for bills, invoices and receipts, and email and chat support.
  • Booke says low-confidence items go to your team for review with a suggested treatment, and the homepage also lists an AI assistant, a client query tool, inconsistency detection, tasks and a performance dashboard.
  • Booke says each client gets a separate AI model ("AI Brain") trained only on that client's data, using up to 2 years of QuickBooks or Xero history plus the user's corrections, and that data is never used to train other clients' models.
  • Booke's data-handling page states AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit and encrypted backups, and says customers can export data for 30 days after cancellation with deletion completed within 30 days.
  • Booke describes itself as an Intuit Certified Partner and a Xero Certified Partner, and says Intuit and Xero audit it annually; the page does not link to audit reports.

Limitations

  • The Business plan is $129 a month per business. A business added mid-period is charged a prorated amount and joins the combined subscription charge from the next renewal.
  • The pricing pages show an annual/monthly toggle but only the $129 monthly rate; no annual price or discount could be read. No free plan or free trial is listed (a third-party page also notes none).
  • Accounting firm pricing is not published (pricing on request); multi-client management, white-label experience and priority onboarding are listed only on the firm plan. No usage, transaction, client or user limits are stated on the pricing pages.
  • Booke's terms say it does not offer refunds for its SaaS products, though requests may be considered within 14 days of the subscription start if the service has not been substantially used; the terms say both "14 working days" and "14-day period". They also say prices can change at any time without further notice, and do not describe auto-renewal or how to cancel.
  • The vendor's own pages differ in places: the homepage cites 10,000+ businesses while the trust page says 10,000+ firms, the pricing page names only QuickBooks and Xero while the homepage also lists Zoho Books, and the trust page does not name a SOC 2 or ISO certificate held by Booke itself (it refers to SOC 2 hosting). The data-handling page names US-based primary regions but no LLM providers.

Plans and pricing

  • AI Bookkeeper (Business): $129 a month per business. Daily bank feed categorization, document matching, OCR, custom rules, exception review, email and chat support. Annual option shown but no annual price read. No free plan or trial listed.
  • AI Bookkeeper (Accounting Firms): Pricing on request. Everything in Business plus multi-client management, white-label client experience, custom firm pricing and priority onboarding.

Prices were read from the official booke.ai pricing pages (including the US page); the Business price is per business, in US dollars, and the pages show only the monthly figure. The annual toggle has no readable annual price and the firm price is not published. Confirm on the live pricing page.
