What is EvenUp?
EvenUp is an AI platform for personal injury law firms that drafts case documents such as demand letters, medical chronologies and negotiation materials, using an AI model it calls Piai. The vendor's pages describe a web platform with case management system integrations, plus a managed pre-litigation service run by EvenUp staff.
Who it's for
EvenUp's pages are written for personal injury law firms and cover the case lifecycle from intake and treatment through demands, negotiation, discovery and trial. The pages do not describe a product for individuals, in-house teams or other practice areas, and the tool does not replace a lawyer's review.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- EvenUp lists pre-litigation products (Intake, Treatment, Demands, Negotiation) and litigation products (Discovery, Trial), plus Medical Management, Companion, MedChrons, Settlement Repository, Communication Agents and Executive Analytics.
- Its Expert Demands page offers two routes: 'AI + You', where Piai drafts in minutes and the firm edits and finalizes, and 'AI + Professional Review', where EvenUp's legal professionals review and the page says delivery takes 1-5 days.
- The Expert Demands page lists a liability narrative, a medical timeline with diagnoses and ICD codes, past and future medical expenses, a pain and suffering analysis, verdict analysis from comparable verdicts and settlements, and court-ready exhibits.
- A May 2025 trade report says the AI Drafts Suite covers demand letters, complaints, medical summaries, negotiation sheets and interrogatory responses, and that Smart Workflows track demand timing, treatment gaps and missing documents.
- The Trust Center says the security program was assessed through a SOC 2 Type 2 examination, lists a HIPAA compliance assessment and CCPA documentation, and says case data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- The FAQ says PLAAS is a managed pre-litigation service with US-based case managers, and that the product gives line-level citations back to source records.
Limitations
- EvenUp publishes no prices. Its pages say 'All-In-One, Case-Based Pricing' and direct visitors to schedule a call, and a trade report on the pricing change gives no amounts or definition of a 'case'.
- The Trust Center says third-party AI providers, including OpenAI and Anthropic, may not train on case files and zero-retention settings are used where available, but it also says EvenUp's own models 'learn statistical patterns' from the cases it handles. The privacy policy says EvenUp may use personal information to train its AI for all customers, and defers business-customer data to customer agreements that could not be read.
- The Trust Center does not list subprocessors or data location; SOC 2, HIPAA and CCPA documents must be requested through the Trust Center, so those details were not read here.
- The vendor does not name the jurisdictions, case types beyond personal injury, or specific case management systems it supports; the product page only says it integrates with case management systems.
- Results quoted on EvenUp's pages, such as a 69% higher likelihood of policy-limit settlements, a 75% cut in negotiation preparation time and customer testimonials, are vendor claims that this profile did not verify.
Plans and pricing
- Case-based pricing: Contact sales. The vendor describes one all-in-one per-case model without feature tiers; no per-case amounts are published.
- AI + You (Expert Demands): Contact sales. Piai drafts the demand and the firm's team edits and finalizes; the page lists no price.
- AI + Professional Review (Expert Demands): Contact sales. EvenUp's legal professionals review the AI draft; the page says delivery takes 1-5 days and lists no price.
- PLAAS (managed pre-litigation): Contact sales. Managed service with US-based case managers per the FAQ; no price is published.
EvenUp's website, Expert Demands page and a May 2025 trade report were read; none lists an amount, and no free plan or self-serve sign-up was found. How the four entries above map to separate price lists could not be confirmed. Confirm on the live pricing page or with sales.
