What is HubSpot Service Hub?
HubSpot Service Hub is customer service software built on the HubSpot CRM, with live chat, a help desk, ticketing, a knowledge base, surveys and reporting. It also offers the Customer Agent, an AI agent that answers customer questions and takes actions, which runs on HubSpot Credits.
Who it's for
HubSpot positions it for teams that keep customer data in HubSpot and want support tools tied to that CRM, from small teams on the Free or Starter tier to larger groups on Professional or Enterprise. The Customer Agent requires a Professional or Enterprise edition, so it is not aimed at Free or Starter-only accounts.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- HubSpot lists a Free tier for up to 2 users with no credit card required, including live chat, email and reporting with 10 dashboards.
- HubSpot lists Professional features such as one knowledge base with up to 2,000 articles, 50 help desk spaces, 500 macros and up to 1,000 WhatsApp messages a month.
- HubSpot lists Enterprise limits of 100 help desk spaces, 1,500 macros, up to 100 knowledge bases with up to 10,000 articles, and 12,000 calling minutes a month.
- HubSpot's Customer Agent page lists channels of email, chat, forms, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and inbound voice, and says it can be trained on knowledge bases, websites, CRM data, past conversations and PDFs.
- HubSpot says third-party AI providers are contractually barred from training their models on your data, and the Customer Agent page references SOC 2 Type 2 audits.
- HubSpot lists a 14-day Customer Agent trial with no limit on messages or features when you buy at least one Service Professional or Enterprise seat.
Limitations
- Pricing is per seat. Professional and Enterprise add one-time onboarding fees of $1,500 and $3,500 that HubSpot says are not included in the listed price, and View-only seats are the only seats listed as free beyond the Free tier.
- The Customer Agent is not included in Starter or Free. HubSpot's Customer Agent page lists $0.50 per resolution for messaging and $0.50 per minute for voice, drawn from HubSpot Credits.
- Credits cost $0.010 each, reset monthly and do not roll over. Included credits are 500 (Starter), 3,000 (Professional) and 5,000 (Enterprise); if credits run out, the Customer Agent stops taking new conversations unless you buy more or turn on pay-as-you-go.
- The pricing page shows two prices for Starter and Professional but does not say which belongs to which billing option, and HubSpot's credits help page does not state credits per resolution (it points to a rate sheet), so the per-resolution credit count is not confirmed on that page.
- The pricing page states no refund policy, and the credits help page says extra capacity packs can be canceled or downgraded only at the end of the commitment term.
Plans and pricing
- Free: $0. Up to 2 users; HubSpot branding on live chat and email; 3 canned snippets and 3 email templates; no credits listed.
- Starter: From $7 or $20 a month per seat. Core Seats; 500 credits a month; branding removed; 500 calling minutes; email support; no knowledge base, surveys or Customer Agent.
- Professional: From $90 or $100 a month per seat. Service Seats; plus $1,500 one-time onboarding; 3,000 credits a month; knowledge base, 50 help desk spaces, surveys; email and phone support.
- Enterprise: From $150 a month per seat. Sales-quoted; plus $3,500 one-time onboarding; 5,000 credits a month; 100 help desk spaces, up to 99 active chats.
Prices were read from HubSpot's Service Hub pricing pages. The pages list Pay Monthly, Commit monthly or annually, and Pay Annually options but do not pair the two Starter and Professional prices with them; the lower figure is likely the annual rate (Reported by page layout, not stated). Prices are in USD per seat. Confirm on the live pricing page.
