What is HeyGen?
HeyGen is a web platform that generates videos with AI avatars from a script, photo or recorded video. It also does video translation and voice cloning, and has a separate pay-as-you-go API.
Who it's for
Teams and individuals who want avatar-presented or translated videos, such as marketing, training or localized content, without filming each one. Developers can use the API separately.

Strengths
- The pricing page lists 500+ stock avatars on Free and 700+ on paid plans
- It lists 175+ languages and dialects for translation on paid plans and 30+ on Free
- Paid plans export up to 1080p (Creator) or 4K (Pro, Business, Enterprise), with videos up to 30 minutes on Creator and Pro and 60 on Business
- The help center lists voice clone limits of 1 on Free, up to 40 on Creator, up to 70 on Pro and unlimited on Enterprise
- The trust page lists SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, CCPA, DPF and EU AI Act, and states that Enterprise data is not used for model training
Limitations
- Paid plans use a monthly credit pool: 600 on Creator, from 1,000 on Pro and 1,500 on Business, with per-minute rates that vary by avatar type (for example 31 credits a minute for Avatar IV Video Look and 48 for Avatar V)
- The Free plan has no credits. It gives 1 to 3 free videos by region, up to 1 minute each, with a 720p sharing link and 3 Video Agent videos a month. The pages we read do not state a watermark
- Business is $149 a month for the first seat plus $20 for each extra seat, and extra seats do not add credits. Extra credits cost $0.05 each in 100-credit blocks for $5
- Unused credits roll over one billing cycle on monthly plans, are forfeited if you cancel to Free, and accumulate only until renewal on annual plans
- The trust page says users need legal rights and explicit consent for any likeness they use, and that data from non-Enterprise accounts may be used for model training unless the user opts out

- Free: $0. No credits; 1 to 3 free videos by region, up to 1 minute each, 720p sharing link, 500+ stock avatars, 30+ translation languages, 1 custom avatar, 1 voice clone.
- Creator: $29 a month, or $24 a month billed annually. 600 credits a month, videos up to 30 minutes, 1080p, watermark removal, 700+ stock avatars, 175+ translation languages, up to 40 voice clones, 1 seat.
- Pro: From $49 a month (annual price not listed). From 1,000 credits a month, with tiers up to 100,000 credits at $4,300 a month. Videos up to 30 minutes, up to 4K, up to 70 voice clones, 1 seat.
- Business: $149 a month plus $20 a month per extra seat (annual price not listed). 1,500 shared credits a month, videos up to 60 minutes, up to 4K, extra credits at $0.05 each.
- Enterprise: Custom, contact sales. Custom credit terms and limits, no stated maximum video length, data not used for model training.
- API (separate): Pay as you go, in USD. No subscription. 10 concurrent videos, credits expire after 12 months. Example per-minute rates from the help center: Avatar IV Photo $2.31, Avatar IV Digital Twin $4.83, Avatar III Studio $0.99, Translation Speed with lip sync $0.81.

The pricing page text showed monthly prices only, so the Creator annual price comes from the FAQ and Pro and Business annual prices are unknown. The official API pricing page redirects to a login, so API rates come from a help article. Third-party articles list different API rates; we used the official ones. Confirm on the live pricing page.
