What is NightCafe Studio?

NightCafe Studio is a web-based AI art platform that generates images and video from text prompts using a catalog of third-party and open models, plus community features such as shared creations and daily challenges. It runs in the browser; the FAQ says there are no native apps, but you can install the web app on Android (via Chrome) and iOS (via Safari).

NightCafe describes a free tier with daily credits for casual creators, and PRO plans for people who want monthly Fast credits, more image and video models, and extras such as private templates and more characters. Plans scale from 100 to 1,400 monthly Fast credits, so it targets individual creators rather than team or enterprise use; no team plan is listed.

Strengths

The pricing page lists a free tier with 5 free credits a day for logging in or using the app, 3 more for entering and voting in the daily challenge, and unlimited base Stable Diffusion creations.
The pricing page lists 50+ PRO image models, including Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image and Seedream, plus image-to-video models.
The help center lists Fast unlimited quota from AI Hobbyist up (125, 300, 500 and 500 credits a month), covering a curated set of models that grows by tier.
The help center says Fast credits do not expire and stay on your account after PRO ends, usable on non-PRO models.
Every PRO plan includes, per the help center, community fine-tuned models, custom and private templates, animation, no ads, and a free first creation each day (single image, up to 4 credits).
You can cancel or pause (1, 2 or 4 weeks, or indefinitely) according to the help center, and PRO top-up credits cost $0.06 down to $0.036 each depending on plan.

Limitations

Unlimited quota applies only to base generations: no start image, ControlNet or other settings that raise credit cost. AI Beginner has no unlimited quota, and unused Fast-mode unlimited quota does not roll over.
The FAQ says zero-credit base creations are rate-limited and cannot use bulk-create tools (multiple start images, prompt sets or seeds); higher resolution, longer runtime or multi-image creations cost credits.
Upgrades are charged immediately at the full price of the new plan and are not prorated, per the help center. The help article does not describe downgrade terms.
Refund pages differ in tone: the Refund Policy says requests must be made within 7 days and PRO and credit packs are non-refundable if any credits were used, with no partial or pro-rated refunds, while the Terms of Service say fees are non-refundable once paid to the extent the law allows.
Commercial use is allowed only if you did not use copyrighted images in the creation process, and the Terms of Service give no guarantee you can claim copyright; separately, the Terms grant NightCafe a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive licence over content you post.

Monthly USD prices (excluding tax) were read from NightCafe's PRO plans help article, which names the pricing page as the source of truth; the live pricing page could be read only for its text, and its plan cards did not load. The pricing page says annual billing saves 40% and quarterly saves 15%, but no annual or quarterly dollar amounts could be read, so only monthly prices are listed. A 50% off annual offer was stated to run through October 11, 2026, so it appears to have ended. Confirm on the live pricing page.
