What is Read AI?

Read AI is an AI notetaker that joins Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet calls to record, transcribe and summarize them, and it also lists summaries for email and messaging plus enterprise search. It runs as a web app with Windows, macOS, Android and iOS apps and a web extension.

Who it's for

Read AI's pricing page offers individual licenses on a Free plan and per-user paid plans, with workspaces for people in the same organization. Security controls such as SAML SSO, SCIM, domain capture, custom retention and HIPAA are listed only on Enterprise+, which is sold to teams of 5 or more licenses.

Pros & cons

Strengths

  • Read AI lists a Free plan with 5 meeting reports and transcripts a month, summaries for meetings, email and messaging, a personalized meeting coach, and basic integrations.
  • All paid plans are listed with unlimited meeting reports, unlimited storage and workspace access; Pro adds priority report processing and 100 minutes of audio or video uploads a month.
  • Premium integrations on paid plans are listed as Notion, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Confluence, Zapier and webhooks; the page also mentions an API, an MCP server, Claude and ChatGPT.
  • Enterprise adds audio and video playback, video highlights and dedicated support; Enterprise+ adds domain capture, SAML SSO, SCIM, a custom data retention policy, HIPAA compliance and workspace onboarding.
  • Read AI's security overview says it holds SOC 2 Type 2 certification, is GDPR compliant, uses TLS 1.2 in transit and AES-256 at rest, and does not use customer data for model training unless a user opts in.
  • Read AI lists annual volume discounts of 10% at 100+ licenses, 15% at 500+ and 20% at 1,000+, and separate education pricing.

Limitations

  • The Free plan is capped at 5 meeting reports and transcripts a month and a 1-hour maximum meeting length; reports you own and reports shared with you both count, and reports over the cap show as out of quota until you upgrade (past 30 days are reprocessed on upgrade).
  • HIPAA, SAML SSO, SCIM, domain capture and custom data retention are listed only on Enterprise+, which requires 5 or more licenses and talking to sales; the security overview says the HIPAA BAA is available only on annual Enterprise+ plans.
  • Pricing is per user, all licenses in a workspace must be on the same plan, the workspace owner pays for all users, payment is by credit card only (no PayPal), and the pricing page says refunds are not offered.
  • On Free, text versions of reports are kept for at least 1 year and recordings are deleted 180 days after the meeting; downgrading to Free also removes integrations, webhooks and the For You page, and deactivates a workspace you own.
  • Read AI's data page says its Customer Experience Improvement Program is opt-out by default, which sits awkwardly beside its statement that model training needs explicit opt-in. Data is stored in AWS us-east-1 (Northern Virginia).

Plans and pricing

  • Free: $0. 5 meeting reports and transcripts a month, 1-hour max meeting length, basic integrations, apps for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS.
  • Pro: $15 per user a month billed annually, or $19.75 monthly. Unlimited reports and transcripts, 4-hour max meeting length, 100 upload minutes a month, premium integrations, workspaces, priority processing.
  • Enterprise: $22.50 per user a month billed annually, or $29.75 monthly. Everything in Pro plus audio and video playback, video highlights, dedicated support; 200 upload minutes a month, 4-hour max meeting length.
  • Enterprise+: $29.75 per user a month billed annually, or $39.75 monthly. Everything in Enterprise plus HIPAA, SAML SSO, SCIM, domain capture, custom retention, onboarding; 300 upload minutes a month, 8-hour max meeting length; 5+ licenses, talk to sales.
  • Zoom Essential Apps: $0 for 12 months (Reported). Reported in a help article: for qualifying Zoom customers, transcripts and summaries for the first 5 meetings a month, no playback, 60-minute recordings, workspace for up to 10 users; then moves to Free.

Prices were read from Read AI's plans and pricing page and the help-center plans article, which agree; all are in USD per user a month. The pricing page does not label annual versus monthly on each plan, so that split is confirmed from the help article. The page lists upload limits as both 'minutes' and 'credits' and shows an unexplained '30 meetings measured per month' under each plan. Confirm on the live pricing page.
