What is Google Antigravity?
Google Antigravity is an agentic development platform where AI agents plan, write and verify code, offered as a desktop app, a command-line tool (agy), IDE extensions and a Python SDK. Google lists the app and CLI for macOS, Windows and Linux, and the extensions for VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Zed and Xcode.
Who it's for
Google says it is for developers who want to run coding agents in parallel, from individuals on a free plan to organizations buying through Google Cloud and Gemini Enterprise. The FAQ says individual access is limited to personal Google Accounts in approved geographies.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Google lists four ways to use it: the Antigravity App (multiple local agents, projects, scheduled tasks), the CLI (headless runs, remote control, slash commands), IDE extensions and a Python 3.10+ SDK.
- The plans page lists a $0 Individuals plan with unlimited Tab completions, unlimited Command requests and basic weekly rate limits.
- The model selector in the docs lists Gemini, Claude and GPT-OSS models; a paid Google AI Pro or Ultra plan is needed for some of them.
- Google says the SDK supports policies that allow or deny tools, lifecycle hooks, MCP, subagents and structured output, for use in apps and CI/CD pipelines.
- The Business route through Google Cloud lists spend caps, centralized admin controls, per-region setup (global, us, eu), VPC Service Controls and request and response logging.
- Google says users can opt out of data collection at any time from the Settings panel and can delete their Interactions.
Limitations
- Google's docs say Pro and Ultra quotas refresh every five hours up to a weekly limit, and other users get a quota refreshed weekly; no numeric limits or credit pool sizes are published on the pages read.
- The pricing page says Google AI Pro adds a flexible AI credit pool, but the May 19, 2026 plan-change post says AI credits were removed from base plans and now serve only as an overage mechanism. These pages disagree.
- The pricing page lists no dollar price for Google AI Pro or Ultra; the $20, $100 and $200 monthly figures come from Google's plan-change blog post, and the Google AI plans page showed no amounts when read.
- Non-Gemini models stay on a separate fixed rate limit because of capacity constraints, per Google's plan-change post; some models are not included in free trials.
- The Additional Terms say Google collects Interactions and uses them to evaluate, develop and improve Google and Alphabet research and machine learning technologies, and staff may review them. The pages do not say whether prompts or code are included, and administrator terms apply under Workspace or Gemini Enterprise.
Plans and pricing
- Individuals: $0. No subscription. Agent models, unlimited Tab completions, unlimited Command requests and basic weekly rate limits; the docs say the quota refreshes weekly.
- Google AI Pro: $20 a month (Reported). Everything in Individuals plus a higher quota that refreshes every five hours up to a weekly limit. Access to some models is paid-only.
- Google AI Ultra (5X): $100 a month (Reported). Google says it gives 5X the tokens of the $20 Pro plan; aimed at lighter, regular development.
- Google AI Ultra (20X): $200 a month (Reported). Google says it gives 20X the tokens of the $20 Pro plan; highest quota and weekly limits, and third-party model access.
- Business: Gemini Enterprise Standard/Plus: From $30 per seat a month. For eligible Gemini Enterprise customers under Google Cloud terms. The enterprise docs list pooled seat credits of $10 a month (Standard) and $15 a month (Plus).
- Business: pay-as-you-go: $0 seat fee. Consumption-based pricing through a Google Cloud project with an invoiced billing account; third-party models are billed by tokens.
Read from the Antigravity pricing page, plans docs, enterprise docs and Google's May 19, 2026 plan-change blog post. The $20, $100 and $200 figures are monthly and come from that blog post, not the pricing page, and the Google AI plans page showed no amounts. Annual billing and refund terms were not found.
