What is Warp?
Warp is a terminal app with a built-in AI agent that can run commands for you, gather context and work on code. Warp's docs list installers for macOS (Intel and Apple silicon), Windows (x86_64 and ARM64) and Linux (x86_64 and ARM64), plus a Warp Agent CLI, cloud agents and a shared Warp Drive.
Who it's for
Warp lists Free, Build and Max for individuals, Business (up to 25 seats) for teams, and Enterprise with unlimited seats and custom terms. Its FAQ says developers at large companies can use the Free plan without being required to upgrade.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Warp lists a Free plan with the terminal, Warp Agent CLI access, bring-your-own AI inference and limited cloud agents (beta harness use), with extra agent usage at pay-as-you-go rates.
- Warp says Build includes $20 of agent usage each month at API rates, Max includes $200 (10x Build), and Business includes $20 per seat each month; Build and Max add add-on usage, auto-reload and a team-wide spend cap.
- Warp's docs say you can use your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google API key, and that a ChatGPT or SuperGrok subscription can connect eligible OpenAI or xAI models to the Warp Agent.
- Warp lists Business features including SAML-based SSO, team usage metrics, admin-configurable data controls, bring-your-own API keys and custom inference endpoints.
- Warp says it has Zero Data Retention policies with all its contracted model providers, and that Business and Enterprise plans are covered by a Zero Data Retention agreement.
- Warp lists Enterprise features including an Analytics API, multi-admin support, routing inference through your own cloud (BYOLLM), self-hosted cloud agents and a dedicated account manager.
Limitations
- Warp says the Free plan includes no bundled usage for the Warp Agent; you buy extra usage (priced at a premium on Free, per the docs), upgrade, or bring your own inference. Free also has limited cloud agents, Warp Drive and cloud conversation storage.
- Included usage is measured in dollars at API rates, so how far it goes depends on the models used. Included usage resets monthly, even on annual billing, and does not roll over; purchased usage rolls over until its 12-month expiration.
- Warp's privacy page says telemetry must be enabled to use AI features on the Free plan, while paid plans can opt out. The pricing page only says Free has individually configured data controls. Warp's FAQ also says it reserves the right to use collected data to train models.
- Warp's FAQ says bring-your-own-key is available to individuals and organizations with 10 or fewer employees, while larger organizations need Business or Enterprise; the pricing page lists bring-your-own API keys under Business and bring-your-own inference under Free. On Business and Enterprise, local runs using your own key still incur platform charges.
- Refunds are limited: monthly plans get a full refund only within 24 hours of charge with no usage consumed; annual plans within 15 days with no usage consumed, after which Warp refunds remaining full months excluding the first. Purchased usage cannot be refunded once any of it is used.

Prices were read from Warp's official pricing page (www.warp.dev/pricing and the warp.dev/pricing-c variant), which shows monthly and annual columns; the plain warp.dev/pricing URL could not be fetched this session. Warp's docs do not list dollar amounts and point to the pricing page. The pricing page also shows a separate Warp Factories table (Pay as you go at 20% above API rates, Build $20, Business $50 per user, Enterprise custom), which is not covered in the plans above. Amounts are in US dollars; confirm on the live pricing page.
