What is Workable?
Workable is a hiring platform with an applicant tracking system (ATS), candidate sourcing across a database it says holds 400M+ profiles, and an HR information system. Its Workable Agent uses AI credits to source, score and chat with candidates inside the Workable web app.
Who it's for
Workable prices all plans by company size, with employee bands from 1-20 up to 1,000+, so it is aimed at small to large employers that want recruiting and HR in one account. The Agent is for paid Recruiting package customers who want AI help with sourcing, screening and candidate engagement, and the vendor says recruiters keep the final hiring decision.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- Workable lists unlimited active jobs on all three paid plans, subject to fair usage limits, plus an ATS, a candidate sourcing suite, 200+ job board distributions and 9 native language options.
- Workable says the Agent can source passive candidates, score applicants from 0 to 100 against up to 14 criteria, and chat with candidates by email and chat invitation. The Job brief Agent, which builds the job profile and description, is free to use.
- Workable's help center says auto-advance and auto-disqualify are settings you can turn off (auto-disqualify is off by default), disqualifications can be reverted, and any manual action on a candidate stops the Agent from acting on that person.
- Workable says admins can disable AI features for the whole account, and that candidates are told they are interacting with an AI assistant.
- Workable states ISO 27001, ISO 27017 and SOC 2 Type II certifications on its Agent page, and says protected characteristics are excluded from scoring.
- Workable says every paid account starts with 3,000 free AI credits, and Standard also includes SSO and priority support.
Limitations
- Standard includes premium tools only in limited capacity: the pricing page lists Texting+ at $89, Video interviews+ at $109, Assessments+ at $59 and Performance & Engagement+ at $39 a month each, while Premier and Enterprise include them.
- The Agent is not covered by the plan price. Actions use credits (listed: 1 per candidate screened, 2 per passive candidate sourced, 10 per candidate chat interaction), and extra credits are sold in bundles: 5,000 for $600, 10,000 for $1,000 and 50,000 for $4,750. Larger volumes need a custom quote.
- The pricing page says credits expire one year after purchase and are non-refundable, and the help center says the 3,000 free credits expire one year after plan activation. The trial does not include the Agent.
- The help center says the Agent works in English only, only on agentic jobs (non-agentic jobs lose candidate ranking and new match scores), and does not auto-screen candidates created more than 7 days before it was enabled.
- Workable's terms say subscriptions renew automatically for one-year terms, renewal prices can rise by up to 5%, fees are non-refundable except as the agreement provides, and Workable may use aggregated usage data to develop its services. The Agent page also says customer data is used to improve in-house AI systems.
Plans and pricing
- Free trial: $0 for 15 days. No credit card needed. Gives access to Recruiting and HR features at the Enterprise level per the help center and pricing page. Does not include the Agent.
- Free (after trial or cancellation): $0. Help center says you cannot post jobs or interact with candidates, and can only view data for candidates already in the account.
- Standard: $299 a month, or $3,588 a year. Recruiting and HR bundle, unlimited active jobs (fair usage), SSO, priority support, 3,000 free AI credits. Premium tools are add-ons.
- Premier: $599 a month, or $7,188 a year. Everything in Standard plus Texting, Video interviews, Assessments, Referrals and Performance & Engagement.
- Enterprise: $719 a month, or $8,628 a year. Same features as Premier on the pricing page. Purchase starts from a trial inside your account.
Prices were read from workable.com/pricing, which lists monthly and yearly amounts but does not say which employee-size band they apply to; the help center says pricing is tailored to employee count. The page mentions savings of up to 20% from bundling, yet each yearly figure equals 12 times the monthly price. Prices are in US dollars. Confirm on the live pricing page.
Details checked October 2026 against the vendor's own pages. Prices and limits change, so confirm before you buy. Official pricing page ↗
