What is Zapier Agents?
Zapier Agents is a Zapier product for building customisable AI agents, which the vendor calls teammates. You give each agent instructions, data sources and tools, and it carries out tasks across connected apps. It can run on demand, on a schedule or from a trigger, and it has a Chrome extension.
Who it's for
The vendor positions it for teams and businesses, with example uses in sales, marketing, support, IT, HR and engineering. Its guide says it is open to anyone at an organization, whatever their technical skill.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- A free plan, described as forever, with 400 activities a month, live data sources, web browsing and the Chrome extension
- The pricing page and the Agents page cite 9,000+ apps, although the Agents page's meta description says 8,000+
- According to the vendor's guide, agents can start on demand, on a schedule, from a Zap or from another app, read live data sources such as Google Drive, Notion and Asana, search the web and call other agents
- Oversight features listed in the guide: an activity dashboard with a Needs action flag, version-controlled instructions, Viewer, Editor and Owner sharing levels, and AI Guardrails for personal data, toxic language, prompt injection and negative sentiment
- The help article says activities do not count toward Zapier task usage, and on paid plans testing an agent does not use activities
Limitations
- Free allows 400 activities a month and 10 per run, tests count toward the quota, and there is no agent sharing. Pro allows 1,500 a month and 40 per run
- An activity is any trigger use, knowledge-source answer, action, web browse or scrape, web search or Chrome-extension message, so a multi-step run uses several. The help article's four-step example counts as 4
- When the limit is reached, agents stop running but you can still chat. The help article describes no way to buy extra activities and the pricing page states no overage terms
- The pricing page lists Pro only as $400 billed annually and gives no monthly-billed price. Enterprise is custom and adds agent sharing across the organization, audit logs and restricted-apps support
- A Zapier blog post dated 6 October 2026 says Agents is becoming AI by Zapier, with agent costs moving to Tasks. A help article says no shutdown date is set for Agents, so billing for standalone Agents may change
- We found no SOC 2, GDPR or other compliance claim on the Agents pages
Plans and pricing
- Agents Free: $0. 400 activities a month, 10 activities per run, live data sources, web browsing, Chrome extension. Tests count toward the quota. No agent sharing.
- Agents Pro: $400 billed annually (about $33 a month). 1,500 activities a month, 40 per run. Testing does not use activities. No agent sharing. No monthly-billed price is listed.
- Agents Enterprise: Custom, contact sales. Custom activities a month, 40 per run, agent sharing across the organization, audit logs, restricted-apps support.
Agent prices and limits are from Zapier's pricing pages, which agree, and per-run caps come from a vendor help article. Zapier's separate plans for Zaps are priced by tasks and are not covered here. The October 2026 blog post suggests Agents billing may move to Tasks, but the live pricing page still showed activity plans when we checked, so confirm there.
