AI tools for teachers: 30 tools by task
Teaching means preparing materials, giving feedback, finding good sources and explaining things in different ways. These are the tools in our directory for those jobs, grouped by task. We list what each vendor publishes about price and limits. We have not tested any of them in a classroom.
Listed by task, alphabetical within each task, not ranked and not tested: we have not used these tools. Descriptions and starting prices are the ones on each tool's page, from the vendors' own sites and other public sources, and they change, so confirm on the vendor's site before you pay.
Before you pick a tool
- Check your school's rules first. Many schools and districts have a list of approved tools. Do not enter student names, grades or work into a tool unless your school has approved it.
- Read what the vendor does with what you upload. Look for whether the vendor keeps your files and whether it uses them to train models. Several vendor pages do not say, and each profile notes that.
- Check facts, sources and reading level before class. AI can state wrong things confidently and invent sources. Read what it produces before students see it.
- Look for education pricing. Some vendors offer free or discounted plans to teachers or students. Our student offers page lists the ones we found; for teachers, ask the vendor.
- Working at a university? See AI in higher education for campus deals, surveys and assessment changes, with sources.
